Algo Day 6 – Judgement Day

Young Love in the morning

After the rain came the sun and what a lovely romantic sunrise it was. Kaz moved into fried eggs which to be fair seemed more popular than boiled ones, is this the start of a new era??

The breakfast show

With a variable forecast we opted to head stright up to the west launch where we duly arrived to find we had it to ourselves, but not for long! Those that were keen to fly got sorted and Peachy kindly offered to drive down so I got the glider out for the first time this trip.

A man on a mission .....

Martin commits aviation

A few piots took off some went down and a couple hung about just below launch in light lift. That was enough to tempt Carl who decided the only way to get in front of me was on a Paraglider …...
He did a great launch and was soon floating about above launch looking down on everyone including the Pod Gods, nice ;) With a few Vultures circling off to the left I joined in the fun and found some punchy if slightly bouncy lift to play with. Colin, Martin and Simon were soon off as the launch began to fill up.

Conditions never got that good and it was not long before pilots were heading down. Carl and Colin made an early run for the noticeboard field to beat the crowds. Every picture tells a story and a video tells an even better one, more luck than judgement comes to mind, still alls well that ends well.

Flying without wings

With a steady stream of pilots heading out things got a bit busy on approach with a brief spell when Adie would have been in his element as an Air Traffic Controller ! With us all saftely down Peachy arrived followed by news from the hill that the other car was heading down as conditions deteriated.
The wind filled in resulting in several pilots not making it in so we headed off for a coffee in the new Cafe nearby.

Ant at work

Decision time and with it picking up and those in the air pretty much stationary we opted for a trip to El Bosque for hopefully lighter winds. 45 minutes later and we are there, sure enough the winds are lighter but well off, still it may come on in line with the clouds …...... some horse whispering, ant inspecting, catapult practice and general mucking about did not convince the wind to play ball so at 17.00 we headed back.

The horse whisperer

Puppies

One car made afinal sweep of the hill on the west launch but it was still strong and off so we called it a day and went for an early meal and late drink. What will tomorrow bring ???????

Quote of the day “ it's a little on the short side"
