Catapultitulating – Algodonales day 7

The week oner's get a final group piccy on top of Lijar

The last day for the first weeker's saw us head off up the main hill more in hope than anticipation as the forecast was for a breezy start getting windier through the day. Whilst few frenchies flew and got blown away even Michel decided to give it a miss. We stayed on launch making a general nuiscance of ourselves before the annual catapult challenge got underway with the Fly Spain group.

Michel lets one off ............

Rattling off 4 shots a piece a total of 88 rocks failed to meet their target leaving us in a draw and with Rob having git in his underpants. Still there is always next week and with new blood in our camp hopes are high.

88 rocks and no result.... the competitors

With the wind on the increase we headed back down and by the time we arrived back in Algo it was blowing a hooley. The guys chilled around the digs, cleaned out their kit and packed in a leisurley manner. Late afternoon saw us head south to Malaga for an early drop off, car change and pick up of the week twoer's.

Goddbyes said and it got a bit emotional with those leaving not wanting to go and those remaining being glad to see the back of them, only joking. Seriously it was a good week and so good to see the guys make the most of it having been thrown in at the deep end on the first couple of days. They all made great progress in their flying and achieved things that surprised both them and me lets hope the UK weather allows them to keep up it up over the winter months.

Don't ask, except to say they had been drinking whilst we were away at the airport

Fresh meat in JJ's

Bill headed back with Wyn D whilst I waited for Shuan W, Adi C and Andrew S who arrived an hour or so later. All aboard and a nice clean car we headed back north to Algo in the dark.

One cat later and we arrived back at Casa Zahara to find a very jovial Bill, Kaz and Chrissy, I don't know what they were on but we all wanted some ….........

Wyn decided on an early night after his trip and the rest of us headed up to town and introduced Adi and Shaun to JJ's meatballs and Snitzel.

By the time we got back Bill had quietend down a bit which was fortunate allowing the rest of us to get some sleep in.

Quote of the day “ what cat? ”
