Our Blog is an up to date record of what we have been up to both in the school and out of it. We endeavour to update it as regularly as possible and include a sample the days pictures when available.

You can scroll back through the
Blog and follow various students progress through their training and get a good idea of how the school operates.

You will also find records of our trips abroad which will give you a good idea of what to expect should you wish to come on one with us.

Condors and Cravarrses

Another glorious morning saw us up bright and early and the first of the boiled eggs got underway after a bit of a disaster resulting in a few scrambled ones ….....

Whoops ... anyone for scrambled eggs ?

Off up the hill or timing was perfect arriving as conditions just started to come on and the early birds fly down. Ollie and myself got an early one in and waited in the filed for others to arrive. Gliders launched occasionally as the wind got fickle again and finally Graham K appeared having launched from the SE launch and began to climb nicely. Whilst we waited for him to arrive with us news from the top was that it was going westy and picking up.

Mr K circled up until he was a speck and despite his kind offer to come down and join us we suggested maybe he enjoyed the air and considered heading towards Ronda la V. With logistics sorted Kaz and those on top went to check out Ponientte launch whilst we headed off to chase down Graham K who was now ell on his way.

and heads off towards Twin Peaks

Graham came on the radio to let us know he now above Ronda la V and burning off height to “top” land it where there were a few gliders laid out on launch, nice one and enough to encourage us all to head that way. Arriving to a very smiley Graham who had had a cracking flight to say the least added to by a close encounter with a Condor all captured on film, excellent.

On approach to top landing , nice one

Ronda did as Ronda does and the wind picked up so a bit of sitting around until Michel cracked and took off backwards to be hovered up and up as he pushed out front. “How is it Michel” - “ there is room for improvement” came the reply, enough to discourage anyone else from taking off.

Peachy and his babes

Another hour or so then we headed off checking out the glide out landing field on the way before stopping for coffee and beer then ignoring the road closed sign before coming to a sudden halt as the road disappeared.

Celebratory drinks for Mr K's flight, sorry Bill Phil and Sam he beat you there.

Was this the result of a Mr Jackson landing ?

Guess we are not getting home this way then

Back at base we ate in in fine style courtesy of Mr Peach who was head Chef and did us proud. The evening conversation revealed that both Kaz and Shaun had something in common in the film world and gave Shaun yet another nickname due to his cameo appearance as one of the dead .

A check out of Grahams video rounded off the day and gave some nice pictures as well ;)

Quote of the day “ that was my best flight ever”
