Tech knowledgeably

Classic Go Pro shot of Sam A

Ok to be fair the morning looked pretty dismal but having checked the crystal ball we were convinced the afternoon would come good for Tandem hanging on the hill.  With the skies getting a little less heavy we headed to Perran for a go at it.

On arrival it was still a little damp and the wind was well off to the north but with the forecast to back we waited for a while to see what happened.  Not a lot was the answer and a quick play on the ASKA confirmed lift was confined to a very small area.  Ok decision time, lets try St Agnes so having arranged to meet the Tandem passenger there off we went.

Take off with Tech

Up and away and having fun

Good choice, wind was well on and at a steady 24 -26 (well 33 on some ASI's but I trust the hair test more) we rigged the tandem and were soon ready to go.  Tech who was down on holiday from Derbyshire was up for it and we clipped in ready for the off.

Inbound as the others rig below

Conditions were actually even better than they looked and we had a cracking flight cruising the cliffs and playing in the lift with the seagulls whilst Andy R, Sam A and Kaz began to rig.  By the time we came into land the wind showed signs of easing a little and by the time Andy R launched it was noticeably lighter and by the Sam A launched lighter still in fact so much that Kaz decided to give it a miss.

So a good move as it turned out and good to get Tech in the air on the last day of his holiday.

Quote of the day "which gate, what holly bush?"
