Our Blog is an up to date record of what we have been up to both in the school and out of it. We endeavour to update it as regularly as possible and include a sample the days pictures when available.

You can scroll back through the
Blog and follow various students progress through their training and get a good idea of how the school operates.

You will also find records of our trips abroad which will give you a good idea of what to expect should you wish to come on one with us.

Happy Landings and Batten ends - Mexico Day Seven

Official Practice day and we were up early, wayne was still well below par so gave it a miss and I had the shivers but apart from that we looked good ;)

Women with guns and some men....

and in such a beautiful place

Fuel up at the garage, thats strange not so many Police with guns at the check point, baddies must be on holiday, oh no they are at the turn off up the hill and at every junction on the way up, that explains it.  Unload gliders and off to find our official rigging spots, I am in a nice shady spot in the trees and not too far from the access routes, that'll do me.  Steve is near by and the others near the front so all good. Trudy is running around trying to sort everybody out single handed, not fun.

Hope to improve on this as the comp' goes on

Team GB sticker

Steve B pimps his ride with some stickers and I pop on the Team one complete with personal name, at least people will know who I am as lng as the leading edge survives. About 50 gliders are rigged giving little idea of how it will be tomorrow for both us and the organisers

Kit sorted and off for a look around, lots of guns around but it feels strangely comfortable as the guys and gals with them are very friendly.  A very long pilot briefing resulted in a very short 70 k task over a lot of the ground we had covered in our warm up days so kind ideal.

Off we went and up we went and off we went again across to the three kings and beyond. The task was pretty straight forward and we all made it to goal although I did take a short time out to study the tree tops before a low save and Gordon cut the corner having got sunk out early on.  Final glide in was perfect leaving me just enough to deploy the rouge and make another yes that is two, perfect landing.

The lake in the distance on a gorgeous day

climbing out over launch

loving it

Still feeling pretty rough and after a lot of coughing and spluttering 20 pesos saw a ninio deriving the glider, unfortunately he thought it a good idea to screw all the batten tips in .......... guess will have to reset tomorrow then.

goal field grunt

Back at the digs Wayne was feeling much better whilst Steve B and myself felt worse, lets see what day one of the comp' brings........

Quote of the day "Oh it is a bit sticky"
