The 3 Elements

Ok I'll give up saying another bright and sunny morning and all that unless things change! A very relaxed morning as the forecast wind was apparent so no rush to get up the hill. With the guys caught up on the washing a bit of reading done and some horseplay underway we made a plan.

Men in pants, what a start to a day

Phase A saw us head to the lake where we located the “recreation centre” which to be fair is not yet completed despite what appears to be a large injection of European funding, hmmmmmmm.

It's as good as it gets, warm water, spectacular scenery and great company

Ants a t work taking a zero calorie meal

Kaz was straight in the water and it was not long before Shaun, Ollie Peachy and myself joined her in what was a very pleasant temperature. Lunch by the lake followed along with a bit of nature watching, boat launching and pants drying in stunning scenery.

Ollie at play

now that's just a cool shot

Phase B and we were in Zahara where the new boys headed off up to the top of the hill and to the top of the castle where we spied Ollie’s camera on a stick appearing over the parapets which received a loud cheer from us down below. Several coffees later it was time to move on.

Phase C and we took the long and winding road up into the mountains towards Grazalema where we were narrowly missed by some young guns training for the world rally championships, closer than comfortable would be an understatement. Peachy began to feel less peachy as the road wound on so we stopped for a comfort break at which point one car elected to return to base whilst the other headed on and up into the mountains.

Phase D saw us pass through the stunning village location of Grazalema and continue up to the pass where the guys jumped out for a photo session. Now on the back side of El Bosque we could see a couple of Paragliders flying so continued on into phase E.

An update to car two saw them drop off the unpeachy Peachy before heading west to join us. On launch things were busy as conditions had only just cut in. By the time we were sorted things were a little quieter and Graham K was off and away into nice lift and soon followed by Martin J and Phil L. Car two arrived and Ollie wasted no time in retrieving his kit and was soon joining the guys to experience the nearest thing to ridge soaring yet. Shaun S, Kaz and finally Michel got off to enjoy the lift right through until the light faded.

Everyone had cracking landings in the field where it was dark by the time we got down with the cars and it resembled something like a rave with pilots in large groups yapping ten to the dozen.

there's a party going on here somewhere

at least someone got what they expected

The evening meal in a local bar was something of an event with Shaun's comment “you choose” to the waiter resulting in masses of food most of which we did not recognise. Still we were all suitably full by the time we left arriving home to find Peachy and Julie in bed, not the same one I hasten to add.

Well what a lovely day with a bit of play on land water and air what more can you ask.

Quote of the day “damp gusset”
