Knots and top landings

A slightly more relaxed start whilst we waited for the sun to do it's work and see if Peachy was feeling himself or not saw us arriving on the main launch in perfect time and with a noticeable inversion in place and no Peachy.

Fun start to the morning :)

Gliders began to launch and the guys got set to go with Mr K once again taking the lead slot. We used the smaller launch and soon got things rocking with a little organisation helping things along and the guys got off at regular intervals. Some went up and some went down but all had a good time playing with the lift although punching through the inversion was more of a challenge. A constant stream of flying tips and observations from Peachy on the patio kept us amused.

Kaz comes in to the main field

Julie looking like a flower

Smack on 13,25 the first dust devil popped through signalling it time to move site. Picking the guys up from the bar and Peachy from the house who was now feeling up to tackling a car drive, and we decided to head off to Ronda la V to hopefully avoid what looked like a very busy Ponientte and to get some easy flying in.

Lenon is alive and well and living in Algo

A good decision as it turned out with only a few gliders there and conditions improving all the time. Michel was up and away whilst most were still getting out of the vans and Kaz was not too far behind showing plenty of lift before coming in for a demo top landing for those who had not flown there before.

Classic Michel

Martin J keen to get up there was next away and had a good flight being joined by the now peachy Peachy for some fun flying before a sink cycle saw them struggling and Martin landing by the lower track and Peachy sloping it to the left.

Ollie sets up for his first hill soaring flight

chilling .....

Ollie was up for his first true hill soaring flight and as the lift came back he was up and away in no time with stacks of height. 10 minutes of soaring around and he came in for his first top landing doing a very acceptable job of it to. A short rest and debrief then he was off again for more fun and another top landing as a few more wings began to turn up.

nice

Julie joined in the fun having a cracking flight in a mixture of ridge and thermal lift seeing some nice height gains by all. With the guys getting flown out and the sun beginning to get lower those who wanted to got back ion the air and with Phil acting as pathfinder for Martin and Ollie headed out to land by the road some 3.5k away. Peachy despite his knotty experience was already on his way and helped the guys in to round off a cracking day, as Ollie said “that's the most fun I've had with my clothes on”.

The fly down boys

Evening meal in the Pizza resturant at least meant we all got to eat what we expected ;)

Quote of the day “ I'm coming in “ (in a deep brummy accent) …....
