Our Blog is an up to date record of what we have been up to both in the school and out of it. We endeavour to update it as regularly as possible and include a sample the days pictures when available.

You can scroll back through the
Blog and follow various students progress through their training and get a good idea of how the school operates.

You will also find records of our trips abroad which will give you a good idea of what to expect should you wish to come on one with us.

Teba, Trees and Totty

Technical pants

Having managed a little blog catching up in the square we loaded the vans and headed up Lejar in what appeared to be a nice day. On top the wind was gently blowing up the front and plenty were set out but no one flying as they waited for signs of lift to come through. We had a already decided to hold back a little and to wait for the more lifty conditions. A couple of dust devils popped through early the wind switched and that was it, pack up and move.

One handed press up's comp, Ollie won

The masses assembled on the NW launch where the wind was on but it was way to early for the sun to heat the rock faces so we made a decision to go and have a look at Teba, a site we had visited several times but never actually flown. Another closed road due to subsidence, we are going to get stuck here if this carries on, shame, and we arrived there mid afternoon to find Ganterfly on site and just starting to launch.

We are out of here

Not a lot had changed from previous visits, one Pagoda had collapsed but the condoms were still there, well presumably some fresh ones and Kaz had to be saved from sitting on a relatively fresh one.

Ollie cruises the ridge

The first few gliders went down the next few up and up and up, looking good. Michel jumped the que and got off before Mr K and was soon up there with them, Graham K got a sink cycle and despite a good effort was soon down, Ollie C who attracts thermals like flies made it all look far to easy as he circled up looking good and martin j got away just as the lift passed through.

The guys made the best of it and as the thermals passed floated down one by one. Michel tried his hardest to stay up in fact a little too hard resulting in him landing not in the official field and his wing well and truly in a tree …....”bl**dy H*ll” . Those left flying spotted him and with a bit of a struggle Kaz managed to find him reporting that they maybe some time.

In fact it took Matin J and myself to aid in the recovery along with a leatherman but finally he was out. Ollie B had slipped in another flight in between so we picked him up on the way back up. With the evening lift pushing in I got the chance for a fly and led Cloud 9 off the hill to find super smooth lift which eased us above the lower hill nicely. A little more height and it was off across the pass to the higher hill passing the dump on the way. Very gentle lift worked all the way to the top and a few hundred feet beyond revealing some stunning views in all directions. Phil L came along to join me and not far behind was Ollie, excellent.

All down and safe

Happy days

With the sun dropping we all began to sink back down and it was a group landing back in the field with Peachy wishing us all something or other as we came in. Heading home the sunset was just stunning so looking good for tomorrow.

Says it all

Peachy and his very able assistants prepared a superb meal in record time and it was a very sociable one followed by a hilarious session of “Go Pro” watching with Ollie’s camera revealing close up shots of just about everyone!

Quote of the day “well try harder”
