Cut across Carbis and flats

Frostbite postponed again wind not quite as forecast, putting glass in greenhouse, text from Big G , Phil L arrives and at 13.00 we are heading to Carbis Bay, after jump stating the truck, me with hangy, mini wing and Pg Phil with the same but no hangy..........

Mike C and Phil discuss the finer points of Hangies

Big G is chatting to Mike C having been up on his hangy, things looking good apart from still flat battery on truck.  Decide to rig and fly and sort truck later, swift rigging and it was not long before I was on launch.  normal Carbis launch in breezy conditions soon saw me climb out nicely under a cloudless blue sky over a massive golden beach and azur blue sea, people pay good money to come somewhere like this!

A sideways view of Porth Kidney and beyond before heading off
to St Ives

With some nice height over Hawkes point (just to the left of launch) rather than take the usual route to St Ives around Carbis Bay I opted to try cutting straight across to St Ives.  A super glide over the sea gave excellent views into Carbis (before making and Peachys flat!) before making landfall again and good lift.  In what felt like broken wave the height built again before gliding onwards over the harbour and towards the Island.  It was St Ives at its best, sunny, fresh and not crowded out although there were a good number out and about enjoying the sunshine.

Having played a while it was back to launch on a straight glide the way I came and then on along the dunes to the river without a turn :))

St Ives at its best :))

cutting the corner on the way back

Another trip to St Ives and back was just as much fun all rounded off with a nice landing by the Truck.  Big G and Fiona had come to the rescue with a booster charger but unfortunately it was as flat as the truck....... Adie saves the day by "loaning" his battery which was removed and replaced under his professional eye!

and on to Hayle Towans without a turn, nice

That was it just too windy for mini wings but good to see a few out hoping, should we have run the Frostbite, well at some points it was nice but at others it was only for the experienced ... dunno.
