Golden Helmet Andy takes off for his first flight of the holiday
With a weak front passing overhead we
had rain overnight and the dripping of a drain pipe not only kept me
awake but made want a pee all night. After a breakfast of semi boiled
eggs that had to be double dipped Graham gave a talk on cross country
flying just in case conditions got good later. 11.30 the sky cleared
a little so we locked and loaded and headed out showing the new boys
the lading fields on the way.
Nice "Goats" boys, see what you are missing !
We were not sure if conditions were ok
but decided to go to the main launch and found it was good on the
south launch so we got ready. Conditions were never going to be stay
up able but it was worth a top to bottom. Chrissy showed us all how
to forward launch being the first off. Bill was next followed by
Adie, Kaz, Shaun, Wyn and Andrew. The “newbies got their first
flights at Algo in and all did good landings in the main landing
field.
Phil does the side step off Poniette , you need to see the video......
Adi makes it look easy
Back up the hill we headed to Ponietta
where everyone got off some having 2 flights (thank you to Chrissy for
driving the car and Mike for some interesting video footage which
caused quite a laugh in the evening).
All experienced some thermaling with
Wyn showing the whole hill how to do it ;) which will hopefully come
in handy later in the week. Landings in the notice board filed were
all good and whats more all in the field, take note first weekers
Kaz gets to join in the fun
Evening lift for all
Cloud 9 were proud of everyone and a
good day was had by all with it rounding off in JJ's before a
further dancing lesson by a still hyper Bill, what does he smoke??
